See How Software-Based Solutions Can Put You on a Path to Hyperconvergence – Get the Gartner Report
June 13, 2017
There’s a lot of talk in enterprise IT and service provider circles about Hyperconverged Integrated Systems (HCIS). While some companies have made the jump to a hypercoverged infrastructure of some form, the majority of companies out there have not – and those that have likely have yet to realize the true performance and TCO benefits of technologies like containers and software-defined storage.
That’s all about to change!
According to a recent Gartner report titled, The Next Phase of Hypercovergence, “We are on the cusp of a third phase of integrated systems: Phase 1 is the peak period of blade systems (2005 to 2015); Phase 2 marked the arrival of converged infrastructures and the advent of hyperconverged integrated system (HCIS) for specific use cases (2010 to 2020); Phase 3 represents continuous application and microservices delivery on HCIS platforms (2016 to 2025).”
The Gartner report goes on further to say that “HCIS is not a destination, but an evolutionary journey.” As HCIS deployment are poised to take off rapidly worldwide, it’s important for companies to know their choices and the factors to consider when moving to new software- defined infrastructure models.
At Virtuozzo, we’re committed to delivering a pure software solution that enables companies to realize the benefits of hyperconvergence and breakthrough technologies like containers today – on any x86 hardware platform and in service-oriented models that enable rapid deployment and highly cost-efficient operations and elasticity.
